- Updated the wiki software to the latest version
- Tonight's weather is mixed precipitation of rain, sleet, and freezing rain, but thankfully not likely to be dangerous for the duration of the meeting as well as return transit
- Discussed use of ssh-keygen for creating pre-shared keys for ssh
- Did some verbose debugging of ssh connection failure
- Discussed RSA-240 Factored (795 bits) which took 900 core-years on a 2.1 GHz Intel Xeon Gold 6130 CPU.
(Ssh uses a minimum of 1024-bit RSA keys and default is 2048-bit RSA.)
- Discussed Virgil Grifith of the Ethereum Foundation being arrested for giving a talk about cryptocurrencies to North Korea.
The United States accuses him of teaching North Korea how to use cryptocurrencies for money laundering.

- Discussed "Duck Curve" concerning power generation because of problems with large-scale solar panel power generation when a cloud comes overhead

- Briefly discussed Tokamak fusion reactors
- Briefly discussed Gamma-ray bursts which have the possibility of destroying life on Earth, because a Black hole has been found pointing at us, thus a potential Gamma-ray burst source that would hit us

- Price of Bitcoin up to $8012 USD/BTC on Bitfinex (big jump up since last month)
- Next meeting scheduled for June 24th, 2019 at the Long Island Welcome Center
- Briefly looked at Schnorr signatures for Bitcoin Cash. Bitcoin plans to implement this too sometime later.
Apparently the patent from the 1980's recently expired.
- Member brought up a recent bill proposed to outlaw use of cryptocurrency for purchases
- Binance reported $40M in Bitcoin stolen in 'large scale' hack
and the stolen Bitcoin seems to have been moved to seven addresses
- Mentioned story about a couple of Bitcoin traders on the run from Thailand due to "threatening Thailand's national sovereignty" due to trying to live on a "seastead" in nearby international waters
- Examined repositories for Knoppix distribution, current Knoppix repositories link seems dead.
Found a new repository on Debian's Salsa system which doesn't seem populated yet.

- bitcoinwisdom.com prices stopped working, and turns out the site has gone unmaintained for about 4 years. :-(

- Discussed the supposed leading cause of death: bad diet
- The Attorney General caught Bitfinex for using $850 million of Tether Funds to cover their own losses
- Discussed SuSE not being GDPR compliant
- Had a look at coin360.com which has a nice visualization of altcoin price and market cap
- Our website lidmug.net is blocked by Fortinet which is used by the Long Island Welcome Center Wifi because it's a "Newly Observed Domain"
- Apparently a lot of phishing emails contain links with "wp-content" within the links
- Virginia is planning on using blockchain voting in the 2020 election

- Discussed the recent loss of $137M in cryptocurrency at exchange QuadrigaCX due to losing the password to an encrypted laptop after the (supposed) death of its founder
Before the founder's death QuadrigaCX was in financial trouble, and the founder had just moved to India.
A software engineer lost his life savings as a result of QuadrigaCX's cryptocurrency loss

- Discussed OptimumOnline bundling phone in with Internet (else the connection is more expensive)
